Berlin
Berlin's Westside urban art gallery
Downtown west Berlin isn't the kind of area you'd generally associate with an abundance of street art, but just a short distance from department store KaDeWe you'll find a dazzling array of works by some of urban art's leading names.
The ever-changing display in a compact section of Bülowstraße owe its existence to 'Urban Nation', an organisation headquartered near Nollendorfplatz U-Bahn station. They'll soon be opening an eagerly awaited museum of urban and street art, but for now, many of the area's buildings are emblazoned with eye-catching pieces by local and international art stars.
While Berlin's best-known urban art attraction is undoubtedly the Eastside gallery in Friedrichshain, the west's own gathering of colourful, multifaceted works is likewise a must-see. Head to Bülowstraße to eyeball some of the coolest buildings in town.
