Riehmers Hofgarten: a gorgeous garden courtyard

Hidden in a block bordered by Yorckstrasse and Grosbeerenstrasse, the lovely Riehmers Hofgarten provides a tranquil oasis in the midst of bustling Kreuzberg.
Completed in 1892, the complex was designed by the architect Wilhelm Riehmer as a series of lavish apartments set around spacious garden courtyards.

Notable for its elegant proportions and extremely fine facades, an imposing entrance on Yorckstrasse (below) provides a fitting gateway to a hidden architectural treasure.
