Berlin
The future of cinema - now
From tiny screening rooms to grand, historic cinemas, the huge variety of Berlin's moviehouses are one of its undisputed treasures. But here's a first: a virtual reality cinema where everyday existence is temporarily put on hold.
Don one of the special headsets, choose from a range of 30-minute programmes, and immerse yourself in a 360 degree experience that even puts 3-D viewing to shame. Swim with dolphins in the depths of the ocean, attend a surreal cabaret or feel the ground drop beneath your feet on a stomach churning rollercoaster ride.
Given that you'll want to look everywhere, the cinema is equipped with comfortable swivel seats so you can easily check out what's happening above, beside or even behind you.
The venue, too, is all part of the fun - a hidden former factory space (complete with non-virtual bar) that's every bit as cool as it sounds. Stop by for a drink and see where you end up.
