Berlin

Bargain snacks, priceless views

Amazing views of Berlin from an unexpected location!

Here's a Berlin secret to savour: head straight to a student canteen for some of the city's very best views.

The 'Skyline Cafeteria' is situated on the 20th floor of a high-rise tower forming part of the Technical University and, just as its name suggests, serves up far-reaching panoramas alongside its subsidised snacks.

Anyone is free to drop by, and although the set-up is far from swanky, the sweeping, wraparound vistas, which take in iconic Berlin emblems such as the Kaiser Wilhelm Church, TV tower and Schloss Charlottenburg, really are hard to beat.

Lunchtimes, of course, tend to get busy, so if you want to bag a table right next to the plate glass, consider turning up when students are (more or less) likely to be hard at work in their classes.
