Berlin
Casablanca: playing again in Prenzlauer Berg
Midnight is (be)witching hour - exactly the right time, we'd say, to indulge in a Saturday showing of Casablanca at one of Berlin's best-loved independent cinemas.
For years now, Prenzlauer Berg's pocket-sized Lichtblick Kino has dedicated a weekend screening to the ultimate movie classic, and the enduring popularity of this late-night rendezvous with Rick and Ilsa makes for something of a little-known Berlin mini-cult.
Admittedly, it doesn't take much to pack out the venue - the Lichtblick was once a butcher's shop and its tiny 32-seat screening room ranks among Berlin's most bijou cinemas.
It's the perfect place, however, to get reacquainted with Hollywood's finest in truly intimate, magical style.
Berlin meets Casablanca? We'd say it's the ultimate date.
