Turn through an entranceway on Berlin's bustling Potsdamer Straße, and you'll find this unexpected treat: a beautiful garden complete with trickling ornamental pool.
The secluded oasis at the centre of a grand, 19th century apartment block is not only lovely, it's a relatively rare find.
Although many of Berlin's residential complexes feature inner courtyards, very few were ever landscaped in such extravagant fashion.
Add to this the fact that most failed to survive WWII in particularly good shape, and the mere existence of this picturesque green space becomes something of a miracle.
Luckily, it's open for all to enjoy: a little piece of little-known Berlin that's well worth discovering.
